DIY ..Flower Pendant out of disposable plastic spoons

The material you require are shown  above

You can use any colour spoon you want or you can also spray paint them afterwards.
- cut off the handles using scissors
- when you have 17 (10 for outer petals, 5 for petals around the 2 in the middle)

 Light the candle
- Take your needle nose pliers to hold the spoon.
- Try not to keep the spoon too close to the flame as it will cause blackening of the plastic.
- Melt the bowl of the spoon and heat the underside.
- let it cool down a bit but while it's still warm and bendable shape the petal by pulling the tip and bending it backwards with your fingertips.

- You could speed the cooling down up by blowing.
Repeat- this step for all 17 petal

- Beginning with the 10 outer petals take two spoons and melt what's left of the handles. Fuse placing them next to each other and smooth out the melt until the handles stick together. You could use the needle nose pliers to do this since the melted plastic is incredibly hot!
- Repeat this 4 times so that you have 5 sets of 2 petals.
- Now melt the handles of 2 sets and stick them together.
- Repeat this step until you have the 3 pieces of the rose.

This will take a while to figure out which is the right way to assemble all pieces
- Glue the pieces together with leftover parts of plastic  or by melting the bottom side of the petals.
- Insert the 5 petals into the 10 petals and the 2 middle petals into the 5.
See picture.
Now that your rose is finished melt the bottom of the rose and push it flat (I used a saucer to push it flat). Once it is flat enough melt the plastic again and push a safety pin into it and secure by laying small piece of melted plastic over the safety pin.

Optional:
Pendant - hang it onto a long jewellery chain.Or make a broach

DIY:Do It Yourself ...Cardigan makeover, Restore old cardigan,Breathe new life into cardigans .....

There was an old cardigan lying in my wardrobe , which was  old and  I didn't wanted to give it away for some sentimental reasons . An idea came to my mind to renew this old sweater which inspired me  to do  this  tutorial.

1.  I love flowers especially on woolens , so I searched for  something to make flowers out of, in  the material lying around at home, and  I found a left over piece of a lace  in my drawer. So I made  flowers out of the lace.

2. Then I found old buttons and sewed them to center of flowers .Made four flowers with 6 petals each.
3.After this I changed the buttons of the old cardigan.
4.Then I bought  a bottle of white fabric color.Since the cardigan I had was plain and grey in color , I decide to add a little zing to it by adding small polka dots  on its sleeves and on the bottom part of the sweater.
5.Next I sewed all the flowers to the sweater in a vertical manners, as if they were hanging from a branch.
6.To add little sparkle I added some crystals and stones  around the flowers .I kept  the color  combination  of the sweater , white and grey , to make it look elegant.

7.The cardigan looks new and is ready to wear.

DIY:Do It Yourself ....Restore old cardigans....... Create a rosy muffler

If you have plain old cardigans lying around at home , too old to wear, then  here's an idea to  create a useful scarf/ muffler
I had an old  pink cardigan with little holes in it , too old to wear again , so I searched the internet for some cool ideas , and got an awesome way to use it again.
here are some steps
1.Cut  cute round swirly circles of  5 ,4 ,3, 2 cm radius, by swirly circle i  mean  something like this.

Exceptional Identity

2. 11 pieces of 5, 4, 3 , 2 cm radii   of the above  above shape.
3. Sew them together , starting with the largest size on the base i.e. 5 cm piece , then followed by  4,
       3, 2 cm pieces .

Exceptional Identity

4. Make  long scarf like base (length : however long you want your scarf to be , and the no.of flowers you have made)  like this .

Exceptional Identity

5. Now sew the made flowers  onto the above base.

6. Your rosy muffler / scarf is ready.

BEST OUT OF WASTE -3 ...potli bags , clutch bags,& a sling bag .. created using waste material

Hey u all, its Sapna  , and I  am here to share my idea of converting old cloth , laces etc to an awesome bag . As you can see I have  uploaded pics of   a potli bag, a sling bag , and  a cute and  colorful little clutch bag( my fvrt).I had to do a  lot of sewing for making these , but never thought they'll end up looking so cute ,

1. The potli bag is entirely made by sewing together  rough and old kerchiefs, pieces discarded sarees from my mom's wardrobe , and yes most importantly the laces that  I had left over  from the anarkali suit I designed
( view the previous post  , DRESS DESIGNING ............My Designing Experience ).

2. The clutch  was made first by creating a basic structure or body , using plastic bags  some cloth and a cardboard , all stuck and sewed together , then  very  meticulous covered  with   an old  piece of cloth .The handles were attached in the end.

3. The sling bag ,was made entirely using my old  overalls , I used an old belt to create the  sling , for the bag, and used  crystals  for creating a  symbols on it.

Hope you have liked the idea , and might  yourself  give it a try  sometime   :)
